WASHINGTON MONUMENT

Washington Monument

Your adventure begins at the iconic Washington Monument. This 555 foot tower, modeled after ancient Egyptian obelisks, was built to honor the first of now 46 presidents of the United States. Its construction was put on hold several times due to lack of funding and the Civil War. As you admire the structure, you notice the different colors of the marble that shift at about the 150 foot mark (the point where budget forced them to use a different quarry to obtain marble.)

You approach the towering structure and walk around the 50 American flags (representing each of the 50 states) that encircle the structure, but stop when you find a metal lock box etched with the Freemason’s compass and square icon. It looks like it can be opened with a series of numbers. Tucked into the side of the box is a drawing of the monument with an all-seeing eye (another symbol of the Freemasons) along with a series of numbers and boxes. You’ll need to use this to figure out the code needed to open the box.
