THE ROAD TO MONT ST. MICHEL

The Road

For centuries, devoted worshippers used their life savings to travel hundreds of miles on a pilgrimage to Mont Saint Michel, on a journey of reflection and spiritual awakening. The road leading up to the island of Mont Saint Michel wasn’t built until 1879. Before then, pilgrims had to risk the tide changes and quick sand surrounding the island. Even today, there are times at which the island is only accessible by boat when the tide rises and nearby rivers overflow during the rainy season.

As you walk the footbridge toward the island’s entrance, you come to the spot where the first dazed man was found, clinching a map. To open the first locked box, you’ll need to discover a passphrase. Good luck!
