WASHINGTON MONUMENT

Your journey begins at the iconic Washington Monument. This 555 foot tower was built to honor the first president of the United States. As you admire the structure you notice the different colors of the marble that shift at about the 150 foot mark (the point where a different quarry was used to obtain building materials).
